Catching up...

We have been busy!  After Dr. Suess, we have been studying classic Fairy Tales!  Let me tell you, Kindergarteners LOVE Fairy Tales!
First, we studied The Three Little Pigs!  We have been learning about narrative story elements: characters, setting, problem  and solution.


Look, we made our own setting:




When you are reading narrative stories together at home, ask your child to tell you about these story elements!


We have also been working on the important skill of retelling.  The Three Little Pigs is great for this because the kiddos love saying things like, "Then I'll huff and I'll puff and I'll BLOW your house down!"  We worked in teams to re-tell each part of the story with writing:

REMINDER:
There is NO SCHOOL next Friday, March 29th.  This is the beginning of Spring Break.  We return to school on Monday, April 8th.
